Stable Horse Rugs & Blankets

A stable horse rug is a non-waterproof insulated rug designed for indoor use - keeping a stabled horse warm in the box. Stable rugs come in lightweight (0-100g), mid-weight (100-300g) and heavyweight (300g+) fills. Don't use a stable rug for paddock turnout - they're not waterproof.

Use stable rugs for stabled horses in cool to cold weather. Match the weight to the temperature and the horse's clip - clipped horses need more rug than unclipped at the same temperature.

Standard rug sizing applies - chest centre to point of buttock. Stable rugs can fit slightly closer than turnout since they don't need to allow for grass-grazing posture.
