CWD care is designed for modern French calfskin and grain leathers—simple, effective products that keep tack clean, supple and ring-ready without leaving a greasy finish.
Our compact edit covers what you’ll actually use: a gentle cleaner for sweat and arena dust, a conditioning cream/balm for suppleness, and a light finisher for periodic deep care. Together they keep saddles, bridles and leathers in top shape.
Clean lightly after rides to remove sweat and dirt. Condition sparingly when leather feels dry or after deep cleaning. Reserve heavier nourishment for occasional use—especially in cold, dry weather or after rain.
Brush off grit, wipe with a barely damp cloth, then apply a thin coat of cleaner with a soft sponge. Allow to dry, add a small amount of conditioner, and buff to a natural sheen. Always test on a hidden area first.
Avoid soaking, heat sources and harsh detergents. Use minimal product on high-stress items (stirrup leathers, girth billets) to preserve hole integrity, and never use on suede or nubuck finishes.
Light clean after rides; condition weekly in heavy work, otherwise as needed. Deep clean and condition before storage and after wet weather. Store cool, dry and out of direct sunlight.
Explore our three CWD care essentials—cleaner, conditioner and finisher—streamlined for day-to-day maintenance and occasional deep conditioning.
Which product do I need today?
After normal schooling, use the cleaner and a light buff. Add a small amount of conditioner if leather feels dry; reserve heavier nourishment for occasional use or after rain.
How often should I condition?
Weekly in hard work or dry weather; otherwise as needed. Over-conditioning can soften stitches and stretch holes—thin layers work best.
Is it safe for calfskin?
Yes—apply sparingly, avoid heavy oiling, and always test on a hidden area first. Buff to a natural, non-greasy finish.
Can I use it on girths and stirrup leathers?
Yes, but go lightly to preserve structure and hole integrity. Wipe clean after every ride and use minimal conditioner on weight-bearing parts.
