Trust Equestrian horse blinkers attach to any bridle to help horses that are easily distracted or spooky stay calm and focused while riding. Made from leather, FEI approved for competition use, and available in black or brown.

What Are Horse Blinkers Used For

Horse blinkers (also called blinders) limit the horse's peripheral vision so it can focus on what is ahead rather than being distracted or startled by movement to the side. They are commonly used on horses that are spooky, sharp, or easily distracted - whether hacking, schooling, or competing. Unlike racing blinkers which are built into a hood, bridle blinkers attach directly to the cheekpieces of a standard bridle.

How to Attach Blinkers to a Bridle

These blinkers are designed to be easy to fit. They attach to the cheekpieces of your existing bridle using the built-in straps. No specialist bridle or additional equipment is needed - they work with any standard snaffle or double bridle. They can be removed just as quickly if you only want to use them for certain activities.

FEI Approved for Competition

These Trust Equestrian blinkers are FEI approved, meaning they are legal for use in international competitions governed by the FEI. Always check your national federation rules as well, as some disciplines or levels may have additional restrictions on the use of blinkers.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are horse blinkers allowed in competition?

These blinkers are FEI approved. However, rules vary between disciplines and national federations, so check your specific competition rules before use.

Will blinkers fit my bridle?

Yes, they are designed to attach to the cheekpieces of any standard bridle. They work with snaffle bridles, double bridles, and most other common bridle types.

What is the difference between blinkers and blinders?

They are the same thing. "Blinkers" is the more common term in the UK and Ireland, while "blinders" is more commonly used in the US. Both refer to attachments that limit a horse's rear and side vision to help it stay focused.

Can I use these on a pony?

Yes, they are suitable for both horses and ponies. They attach to the bridle cheekpieces, so they adjust to fit any size bridle.
