About Acavallo

Acavallo creates modern horsewear and rider equipment built around its renowned gel technology—prioritising shock absorption, pressure distribution and non-slip stability for everyday schooling and competition.

Why riders choose Acavallo gel

Acavallo pads and accessories are designed to absorb impact, reduce rubbing and help the saddle stay quiet, supporting a softer back and steadier contact without adding bulk.

Gel pads, risers & corrective options

From classic non-slip gel pads to withers-free, hexagonal and memory-foam combinations, the range helps prevent saddle movement, spread load and fine-tune balance with front/back risers and spine-relief profiles.

Seat savers for grip and comfort

Gel-Out and Gel-In seat savers provide extra security and shock absorption, designed to stabilise the saddle and relieve pressure so you can ride in a deeper, more relaxed position.

Safety stirrups with side opening

Acavallo’s Arena AluPro stirrups feature a patented lateral-opening arm for quick release, combining lightweight construction with a supportive tread for confident, all-round use.

Bit & bridle protection

Soft-gel bit guards and gel guards for sensitive areas help prevent pinching and friction, keeping the bit centred and comfortable for clearer, kinder communication.

Care & maintenance

Most gel pads can be rinsed or machine-washed at 30 °C with mild soap; air-dry away from direct heat. Wipe stirrups and gel accessories after use and store pads dry to maintain grip and longevity.

Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Acavallo known for?

Acavallo is an Italian equestrian brand founded in 2003 and based in San Giustino (Perugia), now part of the Amahorse Group since 2017. The brand is known for therapeutic gel and memory-foam half pads, REL-X ergonomic stirrups, gel bridle accessories (bit guards, curb chain guards), and a design philosophy built around pressure distribution and comfort for both horse and rider.

What Acavallo products do you stock?

We carry Acavallo half pads across the therapeutic gel, sheepskin, memory foam and riser ranges, the REL-X ergonomic stirrup line, gel bridle accessories (bit guards, curb chain guards, chin and nose guards) and the Jumpe Alupro bit. If you're after an Acavallo product not on the site, contact us and we can usually order it in.

Are you an authorised Acavallo stockist in Ireland?

Yes. Equijump Ltd. is an authorised Acavallo stockist and carries the range with full manufacturer warranty cover.

How do I choose the right Acavallo product for my horse?

Acavallo's strength is pressure-relief, so most decisions come down to the issue you're solving. Use a therapeutic gel or memory-foam half pad to ease saddle pressure on a sensitive back; the front or back riser pads to correct mild saddle balance issues; REL-X stirrups to reduce knee, ankle and hip strain on long days. Gel bit guards and curb chain guards take the bite out of metal-on-skin contact for sensitive horses. Tell us what you're trying to fix and we'll point you at the right product.

How do I care for Acavallo products?

Most Acavallo gel and memory-foam pads wipe clean with a damp cloth and mild soap. Sheepskin half pads can be hand-washed or machine-washed cool with a sheepskin shampoo where the label allows. REL-X stirrups need an occasional wipe-down to keep the tread surface and hinge mechanism working cleanly. Always check the product label first.

Where are Acavallo products made?

Italy. The Acavallo range we stock is Italian-made, with the brand and parent group (Amahorse) based in San Giustino in Umbria.
