How ordering from Ireland works

Every pair ships from Equijump in Ireland by DHL Express, typically 3 to 5 business days to a US address. US import duty and state sales tax where it applies are collected at checkout, so there is nothing to pay on delivery. In-stock orders placed before midday Irish time usually leave the same day, Monday to Friday, fully tracked. Returns are accepted within 30 days of delivery in original condition; on a change of mind you cover the return shipping, and duty paid to US Customs is not refundable.

What types of horse reins do you stock?

Should I choose leather, rubber or web reins?

Rubber reins (with or without stoppers, half-rubber or full rubber) give the strongest grip in wet weather and on a strong horse. Web reins are lighter in the hand and suit dressage, hunters and flatwork. Leather reins are the classic choice and give the most direct feel between horse and rider. For training a young rider or working on hand position, a plaited-finish rein with leather loops gives a clear grip reference.
What length of horse reins should I order?

Most rein lengths come in pony, cob and full sizing. Standard adult length suits most horses 15.2hh and above; pony and cob lengths are shorter. Reins should sit comfortably in your hand at working contact without pulling tight or hanging slack. Tell us your horse's size and bridle and we'll confirm the right length.
How do I care for leather reins?

Wipe leather reins down after each ride. Clean weekly with a mild saddle soap and condition sparingly with a quality leather balm - the CWD and Butet Akene care ranges are matched to those brands' leathers. Rubber reins benefit from an occasional warm wash to remove built-up sweat. Web reins can be hand-washed when needed.
Can I order matching reins for my bridle?

Yes. CWD, Butet and Dyon all sell their bridles with matched rein options - if you're ordering a bridle, we can spec the rein style to match. CWD's rider edition bridles come bundled with reins matched to the bridle. For replacement reins on an existing bridle, tell us the bridle model and we'll source matching reins.
Do you stock rainbow reins or grip-aid reins for training?

We stock a Dyon plaited-finish rein with leather loops, which gives a clear grip reference for hand position. For dedicated rainbow reins or marker-band reins for younger riders, contact us and we can usually source them in.
