Frequently Asked Questions

What horse feeding and watering supplies do you stock?

We carry the La Gee feeding and watering range: drop feeders, feed mangers, mare-and-foal feeders, wall hayracks, autodrinkers (in standard and Polyflex variants), feed scoops and a cover for the feed trolley. La Gee is a French brand that makes practical, hard-wearing yard kit.

Are these items available for delivery, or in-store collection only?

Most La Gee feeding items are bulky and are sold for collection from our store in Thurles, County Tipperary, rather than shipped - the courier surcharges on items like wall hayracks, autodrinkers and full mare-and-foal feeders add disproportionate cost. Smaller items like feed scoops can sometimes ship at sensible rates. Contact us for a delivery quote on specific items.

Are the feed buckets and waterers durable for daily yard use?

Yes. La Gee builds for daily yard wear - reinforced plastic mouldings, robust mounting brackets and frost-resistant materials where it matters. Most La Gee yard kit you see in Irish livery yards has been there for years.

Do you stock automatic horse waterers?

Yes - the La Gee Autodrinker (standard) and Polyflex Autodrinker. Both are designed for paddock or stable use and include freeze-resistant features for Irish winters. We can advise on installation requirements and recommended pipe sizing.

What feeding kit suits a horse on box rest?

For box rest, a wall hayrack keeps hay off the ground (reducing waste and dust), a drop feeder or feed manger holds concentrate feed at a safe height, and an autodrinker ensures the horse always has water without lifting heavy buckets. Combined, the kit dramatically reduces yard time per horse.

Are your feeding and watering supplies frost-resistant?

The La Gee autodrinkers and Polyflex range are designed with freeze resistance in mind. Outdoor mounted items hold up to typical Irish winter conditions; in extreme cold (rare here), pipe insulation and heated drinker options should be considered. Ask us about specific frost protection for your setup.
