About CWD bridlework
CWD bridlework combines refined French leathercraft with rider-focused ergonomics. Supple leather, clean stitching, and anatomically shaped crowns help distribute pressure so your aids stay quiet and precise in training and in the show ring.
Noseband options & control
Choose a plain or raised cavesson for steady contact; add a discreet flash for a bit more stability; or go with a figure-8 (grackle) to keep the nose more open and distribute pressure higher—popular with forward jumpers. Always start with the mildest setup that keeps responses reliable.
Headpieces & comfort details
Cut-back crowns and soft padding are designed to ease pressure around the poll and ears. Balanced cheekpiece angles and tidy keepers help the bit sit quietly for clearer communication.
Reins & components
Some bridles ship without reins so you can select your preferred grip/width—rubber for all-weather hold, laced leather for a classic feel, or web/biothane for a lighter contact. Add matching martingale stops and cheekpieces for a cohesive look.
Fit & sizing
Begin with Pony/Cob/Full/Oversize, then adjust so cheeks are even and the browband doesn’t pinch. Aim for two fingers under the front of the cavesson, a comfortable throatlatch, and a bit that creates quiet, even wrinkles at the lips.
Materials & care
Premium leathers and corrosion-resistant hardware are built for everyday use. Wipe away sweat after each ride, clean with gentle saddle soap as needed, and condition lightly. Keep tack away from heat and direct sun.
