Materials & feel overview
TRUST offers three material families. Inno Sense uses an FDA-approved synthetic for a warm, friendly feel; Leather softens with saliva and conforms gently to the mouth; Sweet Iron develops a light surface oxidation that tastes sweet and can encourage salivation and acceptance.
Cheeks & control
Match cheeks to your goals: loose ring for mobility and feel; eggbutt or D-ring for stability; full cheek for lateral guidance. Leverage options (Pelham, gag) are for experienced hands and appropriate classes—always choose the mildest setup that yields steady responses.
Fit & sizing basics
Measure width between the inside edges of the rings/cheeks with slight clearance at the lips. Choose thickness and mouthpiece shape to suit your horse’s palate and tongue, aiming for quiet, even contact.
Care & maintenance
Rinse after each ride and deep-clean joints periodically. Wipe synthetic and leather mouthpieces gently (avoid abrasives); allow leather to dry naturally. Sweet Iron will change color with use—this is expected.
