The pony saddles collection is small and centred on the CWD 2Gs Kid, the pony-sized version of the 2Gs jumping saddle. The 2Gs Kid is built on the same Dynamick carbon Kevlar saddle tree as the adult 2Gs, with a narrower twist shaped for a child's pelvis and a semi-deep seat with carbon reinforcement to hold a young rider's leg in position.
What size is the CWD 2Gs Kid?
It's a child saddle made for ponies, with seat sizes and flap sizes scaled down accordingly. The exact size you need depends on the pony's back shape and the child's height - send us photos of the pony and the child's measurements, and we'll shortlist a build.
Can I get a CWD 2Gs Kid built to my pony's measurements?
Yes. Like all CWD saddles, the 2Gs Kid is built to order. We collect the pony's back and shoulder profile, the child's measurements, leather choice and customisation colours, then send the spec to the workshop in Nontron. Pricing matches stock pricing and we'll quote a firm price including VAT and delivery before you order.
Do you stock used pony saddles?
Pony-sized saddles come up rarely on the used saddles page. If you'd like to be told when a used pony saddle comes in, get in touch and we'll hold your details.
What if I need a saddle for a young rider on a horse rather than a pony?
The CWD 2Gs and Butet adult ranges run down to a 16-inch seat, which suits younger or smaller riders on full-size horses. The CWD Mademoiselle is built for the female anatomy and is often a good fit for teenage riders moving into competition. Contact us with the rider's measurements and we'll point you at the right model.
How do I care for a child's saddle?
The same routine as any French calfskin saddle: wipe down after every ride, clean weekly with a mild saddle soap, and condition sparingly with a quality leather balm. The 2Gs Kid has carbon reinforcement that doesn't need any specific care beyond the standard leather routine. Store on a saddle rack with a breathable cover.
