Electrolytes replace the salts lost through sweat - particularly sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium and chloride - and support continued drinking and recovery. Don't give electrolytes routinely without need; the body excretes excess.
What is the difference between paste and powder electrolytes?
Paste (TRM Superlyte Paste) gives a precise oral dose at a specific time - common use is event-day or post-work. Powder or granule electrolytes (TRM Isopro and similar) feed in daily through the regular feed and suit horses in continuous heavy work. Both deliver the same minerals; choice depends on your routine.
Can I give horse electrolytes daily?
Yes - daily electrolyte feeding suits horses in continuous heavy work or hot conditions. Match the dose to the work load; over-dosing routinely wastes the supplement and (in extreme cases) can disrupt the horse's natural mineral balance. Always provide free access to clean water alongside.
Are electrolytes competition-legal?
