New horse saddles from CWD and Butet - jumping, hunter and cross-country models handcrafted in France. Professional saddle fitting consultations available.
Equijump Ltd is Ireland's official distributor for both CWD and Butet - two of the most respected saddle makers in the sport. Every saddle we sell is built to order or sourced direct from the manufacturer, and we offer professional saddle fitting to make sure the saddle works for both horse and rider. Whether you are competing at international level or schooling at home, the right saddle makes a measurable difference to balance, security and your horse's freedom of movement.
CWD saddles are engineered in Nontron, France, with a focus on close contact and even pressure distribution. The range covers jumping, hunter and cross-country disciplines, with models like the 2Gs, SE02 and SE03 each designed around a different rider position and jumping style. The CWD 2Gs Mademoiselle offers a female-focused ergonomic design, while the iJump integrates real-time feedback on position and balance for high-level training. Butet saddles are handmade in Saumur using vegetable-tanned leather and a minimalist design philosophy - light, close to the horse and built to last. Both brands offer calfskin and grain leather options.
Start with discipline - a jumping saddle has a forward flap and supportive blocks, while a cross-country saddle typically sits you deeper with a more secure knee roll. Next, consider seat size (measured from the nail head to the cantle centre), flap length (matched to your femur) and tree width (matched to your horse's wither and back shape). Our team also provides guidance on pairing your saddle with matching girths, martingales and reins for full tack integration. If you are unsure where to start, our fitting consultation will guide you through each measurement.
A saddle that does not fit correctly restricts movement, causes discomfort and can lead to long-term back problems for your horse. We offer saddle fitting consultations where we assess rider measurements alongside photos of your horse's back and wither profile. From there we recommend the right model, tree configuration and panel setup. We accommodate everything from finely built ponies to broad-chested Irish Draughts. Contact us to book a fitting or to discuss your requirements.
What saddle brands do you sell?
We are the official Irish distributor for CWD and Butet - both French-made saddle brands built for jumping, hunter and cross-country disciplines. Every saddle is available new and built to your specifications.
How do I choose between a CWD and a Butet saddle?
CWD saddles tend to offer more model variation - different seat depths, flap shapes and block configurations for different riding styles. Butet takes a more minimalist approach with lighter weight and a closer contact feel. Both use premium leather and both perform at the highest level. A fitting consultation is the best way to find which suits your position and your horse.
Do you offer saddle fitting?
Yes. Share your rider measurements and photos of your horse's back and wither, and we will recommend the right model, seat size, flap length and tree width. Contact us to get started.
How much does a new saddle cost?
Prices range from around EUR 2,500 to EUR 6,000 depending on brand, model and leather choice. Calfskin options sit at the higher end, grain leather at the lower. Built-to-order saddles are priced the same as stock models.
How long does a built-to-order saddle take?
Lead times vary by brand and demand but typically range from 8 to 16 weeks. We will give you an estimated delivery date when you place your order.
Do you sell used saddles?
Yes, we carry a selection of used saddles that have been inspected and are in good condition. These offer a more affordable entry point into CWD and Butet ownership.
