Description
An eggbutt bradoon from Trust Equestrian's Inno Sense line, for use with a dressage curb in a double bridle. The synthetic mouthpiece feels softer and warmer than steel. Available in Soft, Hard, Straight Hard, Medium Port and Hard Port.
The cheekpiece - eggbutt bradoon
Smaller fixed eggbutt rings, made to sit alongside a dressage curb (Weymouth) in a double bridle. The fixed rings keep the bradoon still, so it sits quietly with the curb.
The material - Inno Sense
Inno Sense is a synthetic material developed and tested by Trust. It contains no plasticisers or harmful substances, and feels softer and warmer than steel. Many horses that back off a metal bit will take a more confident contact on Inno Sense, which helps them stretch and seek the hand.
Choosing a mouthpiece
Soft - unjointed and very flexible, with a metal core that keeps its shape. Soft, even pressure over the tongue and bars, with no joints. The gentlest option: suits young horses, hot or sensitive horses, and horses that duck behind the bit or the vertical. For a strong horse, a firmer mouthpiece is usually a better fit.
Medium Port - unjointed with an anatomically shaped tongue port. Takes pressure off the centre of the tongue and moves it onto the bars. Suits horses with a thick or sensitive tongue, horses that put their tongue out, and horses with little room in the mouth. Slightly firmer than the Soft, with a little flexibility left.
Hard Port - unjointed with a tongue port, and firmer than the Medium Port. It holds its shape, so light aids come through precisely, while the synthetic material keeps a comfortable feel. Suits horses that need tongue relief and go well in a steadier mouthpiece.
Hard - Trust's Mullen Soft: an unjointed bar curved slightly forward. The rigid core means it does not flex, while the synthetic outer keeps a soft feel. For horses that need a steady, unjointed bit but go better on a softer material than steel.
